Texture Frenzy

A new Business in town. Textures. Yes. They’re selling textures of any kind. You like it rough? They’ve got it; and smooth, and slightly rugged, and earthy, and warm, and cold, old, Italian, pristine, industrial, tiles, snowy-day, weather-beaten, crunchy.

“We try to accommodate most people,” the manager, said. His name is Lenny. A strange sort of name for someone in the texture-business. We expected to meet Liz, or Taylor, or Chris, but not Lenny.

But here he is, Lenny, and his texture business. And nothing will ever be the same. Textures everywhere from now on. Up and down the things we previously took for granted. “Isn’t this a great texture?” he asked us, and pulled out something that looked like the back of a bumble bee. “I call it grit and sit,” he said. God knows why. But that’s our new Lenny for you; surprisingly original and smart.

Can he make a texture-free texture? “I don’t see why not,” he says with the sparkle of a challenge in his frisky eyes. “It would be like…” He draws it out. “I think it would be something like Freddy, you know, Freddy Mercury, but without the teeth and the moustache.”

Yeah. Maybe.
