Rival Roads
The sorry state of affairs at the annual Road Committee. No-one could agree on where to lay the new by-way, the one supposed to connect Kavli to the M10. It’s out there, at the edge of town, but there’s no connection, no by-way, into the center. Matt Vidal, chairman of the Rotary-club, wanted the road to go by his convenience store on 2nd street, and Judy Chang, of Poker-Parlour, wanted… exactly, the road to go the other way.
And so it went on till about ten at night. Bitter fighting, special interest, no compromise. But our business-community needs to settle this, and soon. It has to do with the drainage problem. Water sits in a big pool down by the tenth exit on the ring-road, where they started digging, but had to abandon, when somebody didn’t get their wishes heard. Rival roads makes us vulnerable. I’d like to drive to the M10 soon, and not have to go by Romney lake.
